Otis L. Cardwell

Otis Lee Cardwell, 91, of Fayetteville died Oct. 9 at Fayetteville City Hospital. He was born May 4, 1896, in Springdale, the son of Claude L. and Mattie Rader Cardwell. He married Lola Mae Anderson on Nov. 28, 1922, and they were married 53 years before her death in 1975. He was a rancher and operated the Circle C Lodge on Highway 71 in Fayetteville for over 25 years. He was a member of the Zion Methodist Church and Zion Cemetery Association and was credited with acquiring both land and building for the church. He was a member of the Washington County Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association. He was active in support of the Washington County Fair and 4-H. He recently contributed his collection of early Americana to Har-Ber Village in Grove, Okla.

Survivors include one brother, Loren Cardwell of Glendaie, Calif; seven nephews and four nieces.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Burton A. Miley and the Rev. Lee Cates officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Zion Cemetery Association.

MRS. LULA CARDWELL

Mrs. Lula Cardwell, 74, Fayetteville, died Nov. 30 in Fayetteville. Born Dec. 9, 1900, in Springdale, she was the daughter of George and Viola Lindley Anderson. was a member of Zion Methodist Church, was secretary-treasurer of Zion Cemetery Assn. and secretary of Zion Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Otis L. Cardwell of the home; one brother, Howard Anderson, Springdale; four nephews and four nieces.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Sisco Chapel in Springdale, with burial at Zion Cemetery.
