W.K. Bivens, 88, of Vilonia died on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at his residence.
He was born October 12, 1925, in Guy, AR to the late Ernest Bryan Bivens and Mabel (Trawick) Bivens.
W.K. was the former Mayor of Vilonia. He was also known for his gardening and especially for his tomato patch, which many enjoyed the fruits of his efforts.
He is survived by his 2 sons Jerry W. Bivens and wife Barbara of Vilonia, Richard Lynn Bivens of Conway; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and his special dog Sandy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years Emma Bivens; son David W. Bivens of Seattle Washington, ; daughter Debra K. Bivens of the home.
Visitation will be Friday November 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR.
The family would like to especially thank Arkansas Hospice for all their wonderful care and concern.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Arkansas Hospice in memory of W.K.
Emma Bivens, 83, of Vilonia, passed away April 3, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Emma Vernell Bivens was born August 27, 1929 to Roy and Floy (Swor) Bates at Quitman.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, W.K. Bivens of Vilonia; sons, Jerry (Barbara) Bivens of Vilonia, Richard Lynn Bivens of Conway; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Rita) Bates of Bossier City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; son David W. Bivens, daughter Debra Kay Bivens, sisters, Klyda McWhinney and Ruth Johnson. The family would like to thank the staff of Arkansas Hospice for the extraordinary care given to Emma.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home (801 8th Ave) in Conway with Bro. Tom Lukas officiating. Interment will follow at Vilonia Cemetery in Vilonia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
