Waymon Dearmon Floyd of Melbourne, son of Chester Hill and Fannie Finley Floyd, was born January 22, 1921 at Newburg. He died November 11, 2000 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne. He was 79.
Mr. Floyd was united in marriage to Loyce Blankenship in 1940 in Bandmill. He was a Mason and of the Jehovah Witness faith.
Survivors include his wife, Loyce Floyd of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Carol Floyd of Selah, Washington and Deanie and Donna Floyd of Mountain Home; two sisters, Irene Jennings of Melbourne and Imogene Yancey of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren, Ted and Tony Floyd both of Selah, Washington; and Dion Floyd of Mountain Home and Daniel Floyd of West Plains, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held November 14, 2000, at Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Jack A. Knight officiating. Pallbearers were Ted Floyd, Tony Floyd, Dion Floyd, Daniel Floyd, Joe Jennings and Ron Yancey. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Blankenship, Newt Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Billy Blankenship and Hairl Everett.
Interment was in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Home of Melbourne.
