Pfc Fred Floyd of Oxford Killed in Italy
The War Department has notified Mrs. Argie L. Floyd of Oxford that her husband, Pfc Fred Floyd was killed in action in Italy on February 20.
Pfc Floyd entered the service less than a year ago and had been overseas about a month.
Besides his wife and three children, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Floyd of Oxford; three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Langle of Violet Hill, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Oxford, and Mrs. Floyd Cooper of Melbourne and a brother, Wm. Floyd of Violet Hill.

Pfc. Fred Floyd Killed in Action in Italy Feb 20
Pfc. Fred Floyd, 29, was killed in action in Italy on February 20, his wife; Mrs. Argie L. Floyd was notified by the War Department Thursday. Pfc. Floyd who had been in the service since April 7, 1944, had been overseas only about a month. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Joylean, Freddie Deen and Barbara Jean; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Floyd of Oxford; three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Langle of Violet Hill, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Oxford and Mrs. Floyd Cooper of Melbourne and a brother Wm. Floyd of Violet Hill.
