LEE, Lucinda J. PERKINS - Mrs. Lucinda J. Lee (nee Perkins) was born in Roane county, Tennessee Dec. 8, 1835 and died at Cordell, Okla. Sept. 25, 1910. She moved from Tennessee to Missouri with her parents when a child and settled in Greene county. There she was married to G.A. Lee Dec. 8, 1853. To them were born six children. Two of these are dead and four, three boys and one girl, are still living. She was a daughter of Elijah Perkins and his wife, whose maiden name was Winton. Her father was a Methodist preacher and her mother was connected with a prominent family. In early childhood she became a christian and united with the M.E. Church, South in which she lived a faithful life until the day of her death. She was one of those good, true, sturdy old-time women whose worth we cannot over-estimate. Some twenty-four years of her life she spent here in our midst where she made many friends who deeply feel their loss in her death. She and her faithful sister, Mrs. W.F. Patton, were among the truest and best women this country had ever claimed. Her husband, two children and many other friends have gone before her to heaven. Four of her children, three brothers, besides many other relatives are left bereft of a dear friend. They have the prayers and sympathy of many friends. The body was shipped to Bentonville for burial. The funeral services were held at the residence of W.F. Patton after which her body was laid to rest in the Bentonville cemetery. R.E.L. Bearden.
