PACE, Caroline FORD Israel - Mrs. Caroline Pace, wife of the late Dean Pace, died December 13th at her home just south of town where she made her home with her grandson, Heber Pace. Death was the result of pneumonia and she had been ill only a short time. She was 75 years old and had spent her entire life in Northwest Arkansas, being one of the best known of the pioneer women of this section. Her maiden name was Ford and she was twice married. She leaves two children by the first marriage, W.M. Israel and Mrs. J.C. Key, and four by her second marriage: A. Pace, J.F. Pace, C.C. Pace and Mrs. S.W. Allen. She was married to Mr. Pace in 1870 and until his death four years ago they lived on the old Pace homestead on Prairie Creek. Funeral services were held at Pace's Chapel December 14th and were conducted by Rev. I.T. Rice. Mrs. Pace had been a member of the M.E. Church, South for 52 years, joining the church at Pace's Chapel when it was organized in 1858. Her death will leave Mrs. M. Sager as the only survivor of the charter membership of the little church that was organized so many years ago. And during all these years she had lived a faithful, consistent Christian life which has had its reflection in the lives of her children and grandchildren. We are requested in the name of the children given above to return their heartfelt thanks for the many kindnesses and expressions of sympathy that came to them from the many friends and neighbors.
