WOOD, James P. - James P. Wood was born in Madison county, Ill. July 17, 1825 and died October 18, 1906. He was married to Caroline Ralph March 29, 1849. Six children were born to this union; two died in infancy, four surviving: L.J. Wood, Moro, Ill.; Mrs. Mary Reid and Ada and Harry Wood of Rogers, Ark. He moved to Arkansas in 1888, where he has since resided on his farm near Rogers. The funeral was held Friday afternoon under the auspices of the Masonic order of which he was a member and interment was in the Rogers cemetery.

WOOD, Caroline RALPH - Mrs. Caroline Wood died at an early hour this morning at her home two and one-half miles southwest of Rogers. She had been in good health up to last Friday when she was stricken with paralysis. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday morning at ten o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Kilbourn of the Presbyterian church. The deceased was 76 years old. Her husband, James P. Wood, died last October. She was the mother of Harry Wood, who lives southwest of Rogers.

{from Oak Hill} Caroline Ralph was born April 11, 1831, was married March 29, 1849 to James P. Woods, who died last October. Joined the Presbyterian church at Bethalto, Ill. in 1865 and died March 27, 1907. She leaves four children to mourn her loss. L.J. Wood of Moro, Illinois; Mrs. M.H. Reid of Rogers; and Miss Ada Wood and Harry Wood of this neighborhood.
