HUNTSVILLE — Mrs. Goldie Lee Wood, age 100, of Huntsville, Ark., left this life very peacefully, on April 21, 2017, at her home in Meadowview Skilled Nursing Facility. Goldie was known through the years for her sweet smile and spirit. Even when she came to point of not being able to communicate, it was the sweetness within her that spoke to all she came in contact with.

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ralph M. Wood, a daughter, Cherilee Bryan and a son, Robert Wood, two sisters, Odessa Gigante and Marie Greaser, and brother, Cleave Williams.

Goldie is survived by one sister, Ruby Gigante from Raton, N.M., her youngest daughter, Viola Ferran and husband, Robert from Los Alamos, N.M., her oldest son, Walter Wood and wife Elaine from Woodbridge, Va., seven grandchildren, Joy (James) Mathias, Justin (Lori) Bryan, Jim (Laura) Bryan, Jerine (Gary) Brown, all of Northwest Arkansas, Rocky (Amy) Ferran from Gunnison, Colo., Scott (Mandy) Ferran from Los Alamos, N.M., and Nolan Wood from Woodbridge, Va., 27 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews and her special family of caregivers at Meadowview.

Visitation and Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers, Ark. Visitation is at the graveside from 3-4 p.m., with a service to immediately follow. Arrangements by Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, Rogers, Ark.
