Johnnie Miles Bowman, 67, of Brockwell, died Thursday, Aug 1, 2002, at a hospital in Calico Rock.
Born July 19, 1935, at Norfork, he was the son of George Preston and Mary Jane Tilley Bowman. he was a farmer and of the Petecostal faith.
Survivors include three brothers, Belvin Eugene Bowman, Howard Wayne Bowman and Jessie Earl Bowman, all of Mt. Home; a sister Betty Ann Vredenburg of Brockwell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dessie Bowman; and a brother, Paul Ray Bowman.
The funeral was Sunday at Galatia Community Church with Jimmie D. Whitfield officiating. Burial was in Galatia Cemetery near Norfork with arragements by Howard Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Jessie Bowman, L.J. Lawson, Buck Crider, Sam Crider, Troy Lynn Roberts and James Loosey.
Honoray pallbearer was Billie Vredenburg.

Dessie Bowman of Calico Rick, daughter of the late Lee and Sara Bell Ray Ritter, was born May 26, 1918, at Flippin. She died June 6, 1999, at the Medical Center of Calico Rock. She was 81.
Mrs. Bowman was united in marriage to Johnnie Miles Bowman in 1960, at Norfork. She was a member of the Norfork Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Johnnie M. Bowman of Calico Rock; two brothers, Gene Ritter of Omaha, NE and Roy Ritter of Leon, Iowa; and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held June 9, 1999, at Galatia Church in Old Joe with Reverend Charles Faith officiating. Pallbearers were Howard Ritter, Jessie Bowamn. L.J. Lawson, Carroll Ritter, Robert Parker, and David Ritter. Honorary pallbearer was William Vredenburg.
Interment was at Galatia Cemetery.
