Daughter of Charles Leonard Parr & Florence Black Parr.
Married Tucker Allen Messick, July 23, 1941.
The Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas, January 27, 1972:
Mrs. Lucy Eveline Messick, 57, of Midway, wife of Allen Messick, died Sunday at the University Medical Center in Little Rock. A native of Texas, she had lived in this county for 41 years and was a member of the East Oakland Baptist Church.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery on U. S. Highway 62 East, under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service. Pallbearers will be Don Cockrum, John Griffin, Boyd Skiver, Paul Goodman, Wayne Kemp and Clyde Dunham.
The daughter of Charles Leonard Parr and Florence Black Parr, Mrs. Messick was born at Paducah, Tex., on Sept 22, 1914 and was married on Jan. 23, 1931.
Surviving are her husband, of Midway; two sons, Leon and James Messick of Mountain Home; three daughters, Mrs Joanne Cockrum of Blue Springs, Mo., Mrs Linda Wilson and Mrs Patsy Scott both of Mountain Home;two brothers, Raymond Parr of Bakersfield, Calif., and Paul Parr of Hawaii; six sisters,Mrs Minnie Brista of Madeira, Calif., Mrs Wilma Brown and Mrs Nadine Ponton of Bakersfield, Mrs Vanita Elder of Farmersville, Tex., and Mrs Lorene Grant and Mrs Opal Aubrey of Paducah; and 11 grandchildren.
