The Baxter Bulletin, Mountain Home, Arkansas, October 13, 1949:
Lavonda Mae Messick, 13, died Saturday at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Julia Messick. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery. Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Ethel Maynard of Mountain Home, her father Frank Messick of Mountain Home, two sisters and two brothers.
She also leaves grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lance.
