William Segal Haney, aged 71, a retired farmer of Route 2, Mt. Home, died in a hospital here Friday. Funeral services were conducted at 10AM Tuesday in Hopewell Baptist Church at Colfax, with Rev. Dale Barnett and Rev. Robert Swint officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery at Buford with Roller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Haney, a native of Baxter County, was born March 29, 1891, the son of the late Sam Haney and Ann Barnett Haney. He was a lifetime resident of this area, and was member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha Haney of Mt. Home; two sons, Melvin Haney and Roy Haney, both of Mt. Home; two daughters, Novella Martin of Mt. Home and Virginia Uthe of Presa, SD; 22 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three brothers, Eurie Haney of California, Bryan Haney of Mt. Home and Bob Haney of Lakeview; three sisters, Edna Harddester of Little Rock, Cora Gibbs of Cotter and Dora Lower of St. Mary's, ID.
Pallbearers were Ed Pinkston, Clinton Stancil, Gordon Lon. Alfred Peace, Houston Pitchford and Clarence Walker.
