Benton County Democrat
Thursday, July 15, 1909
HENRY, Robert P. - Robert P. Henry was born in Hopkins county, Ky. July 7th, 1830 and died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Hewlett, near Bentonville, Ark. July 9th, 1909. He came to Arkansas about two months ago in search of health but gradually grew weaker until the end came. He was twice married. To these unions were born nine children, five of whom, together with both his companions, are dead, leaving one son and three daughters living. He had been in ill health since last January and made a heroic effort to recover his health, but in vain. He was converted and joined the Methodist Church in 1855, living a consistent life and dying a triumphant death. I called on him about a week before his death and found him fully trusting God. The funeral was conducted by the writer at Oakley's Chapel and his body was interred in the cemetery there. He leaves the four children and many friends who mourn for him. The neighbors were very kind to him in his last illness for which the relatives are very thankful. May the Lord bless the children and friends and bring them all home at last, where parting will be no more. H.A. Armstrong.
