DEASON, Thomas Newton - Thomas Newton Deason died yesterday morning at 9:15 at his home at 1106 South Fourth street. Death was the result of a cancer from which he had suffered a year or more and had been confined to his bed for a month past. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.L. Austin. Burial will be in the Oakley Chapel cemetery. Mr. Deason was born June 19, 1874 in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood and some of the older people still refer to the Deason school and church at Pleasant Hill. Most of the life of the deceased was spent within a few miles of his birthplace. He was married in 1895 to Miss Maud Rodecape of near Grove, Okla. who survives him, together with four children - Mrs. J.R. Heffner, Miss Madge Deason and Clyde and Glen Deason. Also two brothers, Robert and Will Deason, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Maxwell of Miami, Okla. Mr. Deason was a popular and well-known resident of Rogers and had a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who will deeply regret to learn of his death.
