Ada Lea White, 87, of Noel, Mo., departed this life on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Mo., after a brief illness.

She entered this life on Feb. 8, 1930, in Sulphur Springs, Ark., born to the late James Albert and Mary Marie Wells. She was raised and attended school in Sulphur Springs.

On Jan. 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harry Leslie White, and to this union four children were born. In the late 1940s, she and Harry moved their family from Sulphur Springs to a farm in Noel. Besides helping her husband with daily activities on the farm, she also worked for over 20 years at Shiloh Bakery in Sulphur Springs. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and was an avid reader. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Harry White on March 28, 1997; a daughter, Carolyn Welch; a sister, Junie Cantrell; and four brothers, Don, Bill, John and Jimmy Wells.

She is survived by her three children, Mamie Latty of Anderson, Mo., Linda Jarvis of Bentonville, Ark., and Kenneth White and wife Sheri of Noel; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Dean Wells of Goodman, Mo., and Pudgy Wells of Sulphur Springs; a sister, Thelma Hobbs of Siloam Springs, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Brother Jerry Seigel officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs.

Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Justin Jarvis, Donald Brackney Jr., Cody Latty, Pat Somerville, Sammy Skaggs and Eric Lemonds.

The family received friends on Wednesday evening in the funeral home chapel.
