HOLLAND, William D. - (from The Fayetteville Democrat) Maj. William D. Holland, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of the county, died at his home half way between this city and Farmington Wednesday night. Maj. Holland was born in Alabama in 1827 and came to Washington County in 1854. He was a soldier in the Confederate army and was wounded in the battle of Prairie Grove. The burial will take place at Farmington at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.
