Obituary
Joy Faye Blevins Melton, 83, of Batesville, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023.

She was born March 25, 1940 in Franklin, Arkansas to Walter J. Blevins and Eva Masonheimer Blevins.

Joy was a member of West Baptist Church for over 60 years where she also enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She had a very strong faith in God and was very evangelistic; she also enjoyed reading her Bible. Joy was a devoted wife and mother; she was also an immaculate housekeeper. She was a sweet, loving, and joyful person. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as cooking and sewing.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James Melton of the home; one son, James Ray Melton (Melinda) of Batesville; two daughters, Janice Fuller of Southside and Judy Rogers (Randy) of Batesville; six grandchildren, Brady Melton (Heather), Teighlor Warner (Ryan), Sydney Wood (Tanner), Chance Rogers (Sarah), Chaney Weaver (Josh), and Seth Fuller; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Pallbearers are Sky Clark, Chance Rogers, Brady Melton, Seth Fuller, Josh Weaver, Ryan Warner, Tanner Wood, and Doug Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Allen, Kenny Willis, Chris Gillihan, Doug Burrow and Teddy Blevins.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00am Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Elder officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Woodlawn Heights Nursing Home.
