LEAVENWORTH, Kan. — Mary Elizabeth Fields passed away Feb. 1, 2008, in Leavenworth at Homestead Assisted Living Facility. She was born May 27, 1917, in Harrison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; three brothers, Hugh Shaddox, Jack Shaddox and F.M. Shaddox.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Powell Kehn and husband John, Alicia Moody and husband Jim; seven grandchildren, Mark and Paige Powell, Matt and Stacey Powell, Marshall and April Moody, Tom and Erika Moody, Christina Kehn, Regina Flores, Doug and Michelle Kehn; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Bentonville First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the United Methodist Women's Guild and the Nellie Dyer Circle. Before she retired, she was a secretary at the R.E. Baker Middle School. She had previously worked in the Bentonville City Clerk's Office. She was known for her great love of children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She was devoted to her loving family and her many friends.
Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 5, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at First United Methodist Church in Bentonville.
Memorials may be made to Vicki Walker, c/o Homestead Assisted Living Activities Fund, 5150 Hughes Road, Leavenworth, Kan. 66048 or to a favorite charity.
