January 8, 1911 - September 3, 1965
Mrs. Ruth Hughes Dumas, 54, of Route 1, El Dorado died early Friday morning in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Born at Emerson on Jan. 8, 1911, the daughter of Ben L. and Lucy Bailey Hughes. She had been an El Dorado resident for 43 years and was a member of the Wyatt Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Dumas; two brothers, Grady Hughes of Waterproof, La., and D. T. Hughes of Shreveport, La.; and one nephew and two nieces. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Wyatt Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie LaBeff officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body will remain at the mortuary until time for the services. (The El Dorado Times - September 3, 1965)
