October 11, 1875 - March 20, 1966
Joseph Henry Dumas, age 90, of El Dorado, died Sunday in a local hospital. Mr. Dumas was a retired farmer and hotel operator. He was born in Union county, the son of Mial Banjamin and Frankie Slaughter Dumas. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and attended the Men's Bible Class at the Melba Theater. Survivors include four sons, H. E. Dumas, L. A. Dumas, M. M. Dumas, and Elmer E. Dumas, all of El Dorado; twelve grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Kenneth Everett officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers included Victor Dumas, Joe E. Dumas, W. A. Dumas, Clifford Dumas, Ralph Dumas, and Alford Dumas. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class at the Melba Theater.
