Joseph Clifton Dumas, 66, Champagnolle Road, died Thursday night in a local hospital after a brief illness. Born Feb. 28, 1901, he was the son of Will T. and Ilda Armer Dumas and had been a lifelong resident of Union County. He was a timber contractor and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Berta Canady Dumas; two sons, Earnest Clifton Dumas of Little Rock and William Wayne Dumas of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Harry Lee Dumas and Wallace A. Dumas, both of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Langley and Mrs. Barney Evers, both of Norphlet; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Roy B. Hilton and Rev. Zane Chesser officiating. Burial will be in Champagnolle Cemetery under the direction of Young's. (El Dorado Times - October 6, 1967)
