Carolyn Smith, 69 of Conway passed away on October 8, 2016.

Carolyn was born on Tuesday, April 8, 1947 in Conway, Arkansas to Chester and Lucille Jones.

Carolyn was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from Conway High School, attended Conway Beauty School and Central Baptist College. She retired after 30 years at UCA as the Dorm Director.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Donna Spart. She is survived by her husband, James Smith of 31 years; one son, Thomas Wayne Paladino; one step daughter, Shelley Danner (Dustin); two grandchildren; six step grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Chester Jones Jr. of Fayetteville, Mark Noble Jones of Bryant and one precious four leg friend ''Peaches.''

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas with Kirk Hardy and Jackie James officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 11, at the Funeral Home in Conway. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway.

The Pallbearers will be Patrick Paladino, Leallen Creekwood, Braden Danner, Blake Danner, Matt McCartney and Andrew McCartney.

The Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe White, Larry James, Glen Stacks, Tom Lindsay, Wayne Graham, Drew Smith, Dakota Bowie, Bradley Danner and Brett Danner.

James Ed Smith, 86, of Conway went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born June 4, 1935 in Knoxville, AR to the late Norman K. and Ahnawake Smith. James was also preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn Smith, three brothers, Stormy, Kenneth, and Leon Smith and one sister, Juanita West.

James is survived by his daughter, Shelley Danner (Dustin), step-sons, Wayne Paladino and Brett Gilliland (Emily) and one step-daughter, Tammy Gilliland Belote (Rick), two grandchildren, 12 bonus grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a police officer at UCA for 32 years. He was a golden glove boxer and was also a referee for many years at Midsouth and Arkansas Golden Gloves and 22 years at Fite Nite at UCA. James was a member of Green Grove Masonic Lodge and enjoyed fishing, camping and yard sales. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his neighbors for their many years of loving care and assistance.

Visitation will be at 1pm, Tuesday, August 10th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with funeral service following at 2pm. Entombment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
