Patricia Ann Smith, age 82, of Wooster, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on August 9, 1941, in Conway, Arkansas to the late EF “Cotton” and Ruby Nell Lachowsky.

Pat is known to most of us as - mom, Trish, Granny, or Mish. She was of the Baptist Faith, being a member of Wooster First Baptist Church. In her later years, attended Immanuel Baptist Church with her children.

Granny was very proud of her educational accomplishments. She graduated Salutatorian of her class from Wooster High School and Draughon School of Business in Little Rock. While she worked at Virco, the local post office, and Wooster’s grocery stores, we believe her greatest job was taking care of and raising her grandbabies and all of their friends.

She enjoyed camping at Choctaw and Overcup with her family and friends, but honestly, she enjoyed eating watermelon and propping her feet up, but she called it camping. Granny could usually be found near the sweets, playing card games, Rummikub, or watching the Game Show Network. She was always present, a part of our everyday lives- helping and serving others- not asking for anything in return.

Granny is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Johnny Smith, beloved Rocky Dog, and her niece Ginger Caldwell.

She is survived by her two sons, Daren (Sonya) Smith, Wooster and Jason Smith., Maumelle. Grandchildren, Mary Catherine (Zach) Oliver, Abigail, Juliette, and Katherine Ann Smith. One great granddaughter- Carlin Faye Oliver. Her siblings, Frances (Bob) Carr, and Steven (Karen) Lachowsky, Her nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends, including best friends, Hope Stone and Cathy Hendricks.

The family would like to thank Lisa, Janet, Knovalee, Margaret and Karen -Baptist Hospital Home Health Heber Springs; Gentiva Hospice, Magnolia Landing and amazing staff, and her faithful and loving caregiver Kathy Falcon.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilcox Family Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Funeral Service will be Friday, March 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Burial following at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are Jason Smith, Zach Oliver, Mary Catherine Oliver, Clay Hartness, Brent Carr, and Wyatt Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are Derb Stone, Tommy Browning, and Bob Carr.
