July 13, 1923- August 5, 2011

Reginald Bryan Smith, died Aug. 5th, 2011, in Tulsa, Okla.
Born July 13th, 1923, in Bono.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bryan and Alma Smith; brother, Kenneth Smith; and daughter, Sue Smith.
He is survived by a granddaughter, Denise Kilman, her husband, James; and great-granddaughters, Amy Dane and husband Greg, Darryl and Renee Kilman, all live in Tulsa, Okla. Although a longtime Conway resident he never lost his ties to his Bono roots maintaining farmland, properties and many friendships there. Known affectionately as "Reg", "Mr. Reg," "Reggie" one of his most treasured relationships was with the Bono Baptist church where he donated land like his father before him for the church to grow. The name Reg cherished most, though, was that of "Papa Reg." He loved spending time with friends and family but especially his great-granddaughters whom he affectionately called "The Outlaws."
An avid outdoors-man, Reg loved nature, enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He visited Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, Germany, London and was proud to share that "he'd been to the Vatican 3 times, seen the pope, but never talked to him."
Reg loved to share stories about his life. These included leaving home at 15 to work at an Iowa CC camp during the depression, learning to play dominoes at the old Bono cotton gin, graduating high school, his courtship and marriage to Jimme Lee Watson and building a successful egg business which lasted for 15 years.
Even into retirement he returned to Bono almost daily – he called it "goin to the country" - simply to check the mail but more importantly to visit with friends. His motto was "always treat people right."
There will be a family visitation 6-8 p.m.
