Claudia J. Fuller Edwards, 62, of Florida, passed away August 8, 2012. She was born December 21, 1949 in Searcy to Claudis and Irene Cowgill Fuller.
Claudia began her career after graduating from University of Central Arkansas (State Teachers College) with a Master's Degree in Education. Her career began as a special education teacher in the Little Rock School District, she then began working for the Florida Teaching Profession where she worked for 18 years as an educational consultant. She was recruited by the National Education Association where she worked for ten years as a professional development specialist in the fields of staff support equity and gender equality. Based in Washington, DC, Claudia worked in many political campaigns nationwide. She was a tireless advocate for education.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claudis Fuller and one brother, Larry Fuller.
She is survived by her loving mother, Irene Cowgill Fuller; one brother, Joel T. Fuller; sister-in-law, Linda Fullerton; two nieces, Lara Humphries and husband Todd of N. Little Rock, and Gigi Davis and husband Gary of California; two nephews, Shawn Carroll and wife Heather of N. Little Rock, and Jared Fuller and wife Jennifer of Russellville; and nine great nieces and nephews, Hayden, Sailor, Mars, Calliope, Hannah Claire, Addison, Harrison, Keegan, and Gidian.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at First Baptist Church in Searcy under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please make lasting memorials to the Sunshine School in Searcy or your favorite charity.
