Joe Wayne Evans, 80, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was born September 2, 1934 in Dyer, Arkansas, to William Reeves Evans and Bertha Hazel Swafford Evans.
He was a retired Franklin County Road Department employee and a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorotha Tillery Evans; daughter Patricia Ann Evans; brother Frank Evans, and sister Grace Reinschmiedt.
He is survived by two sisters, Ellen Cole of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Jackie Dale of Alma; four brothers, Ides Evans, Donny Evans and Donald Leakey, all of Alma and Richard Leakey of Dyer, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 8, 2014, at New Beginnings Church of God in Alma, with Reverend Paul Burns officiating, and burial at Newberry Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial, in Ozark; and also from 9:00 until 10:00 am prior to funeral service at New Beginnings Church of God, Highway 71 North in Alma.

February 24, 1931 - December 25, 2013
Dortha Mae Evans, 82, of Ozark, Arkansas, died, Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Van Buren, Arkansas.
She was born February 24, 1931 in Ozark to Clemie and Minnie Tillery.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Evans; one sister, Kathlin Arnold and one brother, Alvin Tillery.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Alma New Beginning Pentecostal Church of God in Alma, Arkansas with Reverend Edward Head officiating with burial at Newberry Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband Joe Evans of Van Buren; three sisters, Clara Owen and Lottie Oneal both of Ozark and Bessie Sexton of Sterling, Illinois.
The family will visit with friend from 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark and from 12:00-1:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at New Beginnings Pentecostal Church of God, Alma, Arkansas 72921.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Evans, Phillip Reinschmeidt, Ricky Jackson, Terry, Jackson, Todd Jackson and Kody Evans. Honorary will be Caleb Evans, Kevin Ledford and Ronnie Cole.
