*Obituary
George W. Evans, 72, of 1722 Harrison, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 24, 1978 at his home.
He was born in Mena, Arkansas on June 19, 1906, to J. M. and Minnie Sallee Evans, was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and retired owner of a television shop.
Survivors are his wife, Jessie Stanfield; two daughters Armeda and Ageline; a son three sisters Bertha, Hazel and Lavelle, all of Van Buren; a brother; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church. The Rev. Von Deli Mooney officiated. Burial was at Gracelawn Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
