*When Arthur William Hughes was born on March 15, 1906, in Pickens, Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 33 and his mother, Lucy, was 27. He married Gladys Mae Hughes on August 18, 1928, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on March 25, 1973, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 67, and was buried in Letona, Arkansas.
When Gladys Mae Hughes was born on July 22, 1912, in Pickens, Arkansas, her father, James, was 44, and her mother, Bernie, was 35. She married Arthur William Hughes on August 18, 1928, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. They had two children during their marriage. She died on October 29, 1993, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 81, and was buried in Letona, Arkansas.
