The sign on this cemetery reads "Cheek Cemetery". It is located at Vinity, Arkansas, and has been listed separately at times as "Vinity Cemetery." A list for "Vinity Cemetery" was prepared in 1963 by Buford Maddox of the White County Historical Society and published in its annual history, White County Heritage, that year. Another list was compiled in 1990 by Willie Mae Smith of Vinity and published in White County Heritage that year, then updated June 28, 2000, and prepared for the Internet by Kara Spence of the Historical Society.
When Leroy Blair of the Historical Society visited the cemetery January 5, 2001, and prepared an update, the Maddox and Smith files were combined as one listing, "Cheek/Vinity Cemetery", and this history added. Blair added 39 graves plus other information to the list. He was unable to find these graves, which had previously been listed: Mary E. Banes, Albert Dreu, F.M. Gibbons, Roy S. Bailey, Lillie J. Rogers and William B. Rogers.
He provided the following directions to reach the cemetery: "From Garner, take North Vinity Road south for approximately four and a half miles. It will intersect with Vinity Road West. The cemetery is located just south of this intersection at the end of North Vinity Road. There is a sign on West Vinity Road that says Cheek Cemetery."
Blair found the cemetery clean and well maintained. He found several stones that had been broken and reset in a cement slab flat on the ground.
