Bill Leach of Turlock, California listed Liberty Cemetery in the summer of 1968. Bill who later returned to Arkansas served as president of the White County Historical Society. His list was published in the 1969 edition of White County Heritage, published by the Historical Society. He reported seeing 66 unmarked graves.
Mr. Blair's first visit to the cemetery was October 19, 2000. To get to this cemetery from Walker, go north on Highway 11 about one mile. Turn right on Liberty Lane and go about one-quarter mile. The cemetery is on the right.”
Blair visited the cemetery on January 8, 2007, and found it still in bad need of cleaning. Also, vandals had overturned several stones. He rearranged the list alphabetically, with row numbers in parenthesis, and added a list of military veterans who are buried here. James and Reba Holt, who live nearby, cleaned up the cemetery in the summer of 2008, but because of health problems were unable to continue the work. Cleanup volunteer and/or donations are needed to maintain this old graveyard. The headstones also still need to be repaired. The cemetery was listed row by row, starting on the West Side next to the road
Also at the end of this list there is another list with the names of some people who may be buried at Liberty Cemetery in unmarked graves.
There is also a list of Military Veterans that are buried in the cemetery. The following abbreviations are used in this list DS = Double Tombstone TS = Triple Tombstone FM = Funeral Home Marker
