January Fire Claims Life Of Woman
SPRINGDALE — A fire in January recently claimed the life of a Springdale woman.
Louise M. Ball, 80, and her daughter Shelia, were injured in a Jan. 13 fire at their home at 1520 Rogers Ave. Louise Ball died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday of complications from injuries she suffered in the fire, said Gerone Hobbs, Pulaski County coroner.
Firefighters Capt. James Carter, Capt. Louis Skelton and Jason Guthrie pulled the unconscious women from the fire, according to fire department records. The women were flown to the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock the same night.
The women remained at Children's Hospital for weeks before being released. Audrey Kirby of Sand Spring, Okla., the daughter of Louise Ball and sister of Sheila Ball, told fire department officials they were transferred to a rehabilitation facility. The condition of Sheila Ball is not available.
