GRIMES, A.L. - A.L. Grimes, 65 years old, a farmer living east of here near the Electric Springs, was found dead at his home Saturday morning by friends. He was alone and had apparently been dead twenty-four hours according to Coroner A.D. Callison of Rogers who examined the body. The coroner said Grimes had died from acute indigestion probably brought on by having been over heated while working in the garden. His garden hoe was found just outside the door from the room where he was reclining on a bed which showed signs of Mr. Grimes having become nauseated after he had reached the house. Mrs. Grimes was in Springfield, Mo. on a visit with her daughter. She arrived Sunday night. Besides his widow he is survived by children by his first wife, Miss Cassie Grimes and James Grimes, Lovell, Wyoming; Carl Grimes, Houston, Texas and Ed and Joe Grimes, both of Wichita, Kansas. Mr. Grimes is a native of Indiana and had lived many years in Wichita and other points in Kansas before coming to Arkansas ten years ago. Funeral services were held at the Rogers cemetery Tuesday morning and were conducted by Dr. Robt. L. Selle of the First M.E. church, assisted by the church quartette. All of the children were here for the funeral.
