Dorothy Bond Owens, joined her heavenly father on May 26, 2018. Dorothy passed peacefully with her family by her side at Life Touch Hospice after a brief, but sudden illness.

Dorothy was born March 7, 1934, in El Dorado to Charles and Eunice Bond. She would grow up in El Dorado attending El Dorado High School and worshiping in Second Baptist Church. A few years after graduating from EHS Dorothy would meet and eventually marry the love of her life Harvey Byron Owens after his term in the Air Force was complete in 1958.

Dorothy held several jobs around El Dorado beginning with Ark-La-Gas to Kroger and Montgomery Wards before being hired at First National Bank where she would work as a teller for many years until her retirement.

Dorothy loved to travel and camp and would spend many hours with their close friends playing Rook. Dorothy was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Eunice Jewell Hunter Bond and Charles Monroe Bond. Her husband of 59 years Harvey Byron Owens. One brother Charles “Buddy” Bond and her sister Jewel Rogers both of El Dorado. She leaves behind one son, Greg A Owens, wife Brenda of El Dorado and a daughter, Jayme Owens Pritchard, husband Rick of Little Rock, AR. Four grand children, Brett & Conner Pritchard. Jessica McCrary and Addison Owens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist, 2600 Parnell Rd, El Dorado, with the service being held at 2 p.m.,Thursday, May 31st with burial at Hopewell Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Bill Hanna, Brett Pritchard, Conner Pritchard, David Bond, Les Cardin and Mark Owens with Otis McCroskey, Charlie Bond & Donald Delk (deceased) serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family would ask in lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to the Life Touch Hospice house in El Dorado or the National M.S. Society.
