Guy Allan Moody, 64, of Lindsborg, KS, and formerly of Hutchinson, passed away Monday, July 7th, 2014 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas, Salina, Kansas.

Guy was born in Batesville, Arkansas on July 17, 1949, a son of Zana Mae (Hanks) and Olen G. Moody.

Guy attended schools at Violet Hill, Arkansas.

Guy was a baptized member of the Jehovah's Witness church.

Guy honorably served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 in the Vietnam War were he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Army Commendation Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Medal Badge, 1 Overseas Bar, and Bronze Star Medal.

Through the years, Guy started working in Kansas during the wheat harvest for a couple years until he decided to start his profession as a Truck Driver for Silica Transport in Guion, Arkansas, then for Wittig Transport of McPherson and was currently working for Groendyke Transport of Hutchinson.

Guy was raised at Larkin, Arkansas where he lived with this grandparents. He often told how he walked to town with his grand pa.

Guy is survived by his two daughters, Trina and Tammy and a brother Gary Moody; other relatives and a host of friends from Arkansas and Kansas.

The final resting place will be at the Old Philadelphia Cemetery, Batesville, Arkansas.

Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements in Kansas.
