The Baxter Bulletin
In loving remembrance of Grace Beatrice Casteel, born March 6, 1912, died March 2, 1913. A precious one from us has gone, a voice we loved is stilled, a lace is vacant in our home which never can be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled the boon his love had given and though the body slumbers here the soul is in heaven.
She leaves a mother, father and other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her death. But God knew best, we would not call her back to this wicked world to meet with the trial and temptations which are hard to overcome.
Mother, father, do not mourn so hard, for she has gone for only a little while and then we must try to prepare to meet that blessed little one that has gone on before. Grace was always an obedient child, loved by all who knew her. You never saw her but that she was smiling always in a good humor.
She was buried in the Heiskill Cemetery. A large crowd was present at the burial services.
Written by Cora and Dora Haney
(There was three articles probably referring to the same accidental death. The dates are almost identical. One article refers to a 10 month old child; one refers to a 9 month old child; and another gives dates that show the child to be almost a year old. Two of the articles list the child as being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Casteel, and the third reports it as being the child of Mr. and Mrs. Will Casteel. It would appear that all three articles refer to the same accident and that the article by Cora and Dora Haney is probably the most correct. The others were probably reported by hearsay reports to the newspapers and as such were inaccurate.
