Fayetteville Man, Companion Die In Auto Crash
Two Arkansas men were killed Saturday night when their car left a curve on U.S. Hwy. 71 south of Pineville, Mo., and turned over several times.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victims as Murl Jack Gabbard, 27, of Fayetteville, and John Richard Wallas, 23, of Waldo. Gabbard was driving when the accident occurred, officers said.
Gabbard, born April 7, 1937, was an employee of Fulbright Wood Products and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Charlotte Coble Gabbard of the home; two sons, Chawn and Coy Joe and two daughters, Jackie and Tammie, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Gabbard of Fayetteville; two brothers, Bennie and Sherman, both of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Reynolds of Fayetteville and Mrs. Norma Rodriquez of New Orleans and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Nina Nolan of Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial be in Tharp Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
The body of Wallas was to be returned to Waldo for services and burial.
