Mrs. Biurdie Milner Cook, 83, of 466 N. Jefferson Ave., died Friday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 14, 1888, in Union County and was the daughter of Jasper and Mary Slaughter Milner. She was a life long resident of Union County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the United Daughters of Confederacy, the Pioneers Club, and the Centennial Garden Club. Survivors include her husband, W. Lloyd Cook, El Dorado; a son, William P. Cook, El Dorado; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Chapel with the Rev. Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time. Active pallbearers will be W. L. Pratt, Jr., Dr. David Bellew, Samuel D Crawford III, Harold Cook, Melvin Crawford and Edmond O. Mahony Jr. (El Dorado Times - February 27, 1971)
