August 12, 1939 - March 17, 2015
Sammie Dean Cook, 75, of Smackover, died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1939, to Chester and Beulah Cook. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lisbon and was a self employed mechanic and the owner of Cook’s Appliance Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Oprah Cook of Smackover; one son, Samuel Wesley Cook of Smackover; six daughters, Shirl Gibson, Beatrice Williams, Michelle Cook, Carol Cook, Regina Burton, and Sgt. Keisha Cook; one brother, Billy Cook of El Dorado; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Lisbon with the Rev. Joseph Waller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery in Lisbon under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held after the services at the church. No visitation will be held at the funeral home.
