Arthur Luther Davis, age 60, of Marysville, died Tuesday morning in an El Dorado hospital following an illness of several months. Davis, a merchant and cattleman, owned and operated A. L. Davis Store, located on the Magnolia Hwy. in Marysville. He was born in Union County April 4, 1905, the son of Wiley Luther and Rilda Wise Davis. He was a member of Marysville Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Organization. His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Kinard Davis of Marysville; one son, Wilbur Davis of El Dorado; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Hazel Andrews, Marysville; one grandson, Rodney Everett Andrews, Marysville; two brothers, Wade David of McNeil and Doyle Davis of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Lona Vinson and Mrs. Eva Goza both of Marysville; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Methodist Church with Rev. George R. Cleary, Rev. DeWitt Harberson of Hatfield, and Rev. George Bailey of Leola officiating. Burial will follow in the Marysville Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be the nephews of the deceased: Mike Davis, Phillip Davis, Jack Davis, Larry Goza, Curtis Wayne Kinard, and Isaiah Perritt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Methodist Men's Organization and the Men's Bible Class. The body will be returned to the residence at 9 a.m. Wednesday. (The El Dorado Times - December 30, 1965)
