Wallace T. Davis, 82, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Timberlane Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on July 2, 1929 in Calion, to Elmer Davis and Nancy Clawson Davis. Mr. Davis served in the Army's 61st Field Artillery during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with one Campaign Star, United Nations Medal Korea, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was also a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Hampton and retired from Columbia Chemical, where he was an operator. Wallace is preceded in death by both his parents; brothers, Roy and Dan Lee Davis; sisters, Mattie Vinson, Ruth Vinson and Mabel Hanna; and his loving wife, Betty Johnson Davis. Survivors include his son, Michael L. Davis of Junction City; two daughters, Lesia Cook of Junction City and Beth Bass of Hampton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Young's. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Nutt officiating while under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Memorials may be made to Bethel Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 324, Calion, AR 71724, and Antioch Baptist Church, 167 Hwy. South, Hampton, AR 71744.
