February 17, 1875 - June 2, 1955
El Dorado - Mrs. Ada M. Davis, 80, mother of Mrs. Ruth Davis Johnson who operates a ladies ready to wear store in Camden died in an El Dorado hospital at 10 p.m. Thursday. She was born in Union County on February 17, 1875 the daughter of John M. and Bertha Daniels Davis. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth David Johnson, of Camden, Mrs. I. H. Short, Mrs. Bert Davis Smith and Miss Faye Davis all of El Dorado, one son, Edwin P. Davis of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, at 3 o'clock at the First Christian Church of El Dorado, with the Rev. Neil Hart, pastor of First Methodist Church and Dr. Ervin Thompson, pastor of the First Christian Church in charge. (Camden News - June 3, 1955)
