Death Claims Mrs. Mitchell
Mrs. Georgia Mitchell, 54, 608 Crescent Street, widely known Rogers beauty shop operator, died Wednesday in the University of Kansas Hospital at Kansas City, Kan., following an illness of two weeks.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Rogers May 14, 1908, and had operated Georgia's Beauty Shop here for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be held at Central Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. W.C. Scroggins Jr., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rogers cemetery under the direction of the Callison Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at Callison's chapel after 6 p.m. Thursday, and at Central Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Mitchell survived by her husband, C.C. Mitchell; her mother, Mrs. Gertie Gordon, of Rogers; a son, Gordon Gurley, of Rogers; a daughter, Mrs. Henryetta Wallace, of Elm Springs; a brother, Carl Gordon, Tulsa; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Stricklen, Lawton, Okla., and one grandchild.
