Mrs. Edna Ray Pickett, 72, of 514 W. Second St., died Tuesday morning in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 9, 1896 in Bearden, she was the daughter of George Leslie and Mattie Frances Anthony Gordan. She was a former resident of Camden but had made her home in El Dorado for the past 10 years. She was a member of the West Side Baptist Church and the El Dorado Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Steve Wells, El Dorado; a son, William L. Cox, Camden; a brother, R. H. Gordan, Bearden; two sisters, Mrs. H. G. Shoemaker, Marshall, Tex., and Mrs. Bill Mead, Houston, Tex.; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Sam Whitlow and the Rev. David Crouch officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Camden. The family will be at the Steve Wells home, 1012 W. Fifth St. Pallbearers will be L. E. Barmore, Archie Hammonds, Brutus Harrell, Ralph Dumas, A. L. Nunn and Raymond Haney.
