WRIGHT, John E. - John E. Wright was born in Illinois April 25, 1835 and died at his home in Springtown, Ark. Saturday morning, April 3, 1926, being 90 years, 11 months and 22 days old. He later moved from Illinois to Iowa where he lived for a while. Twenty six years ago he came to Arkansas. He was converted at the age of 16 and immediately united with the Christian church. His life evidenced the certainty of his conversion. He joined Company E of the 39th Regiment of the Iowa Infantry where he served three years. He met with three wounds in the war. He leaves his wife. He has a son and daughter by a former marriage, Coleman Wright of Jefferson, Iowa and Mrs. Clide C. McCormic of Independence, Mo. He has two sisters, Mrs. James Empis and Mrs. Frank Witt, both of Des Moines, Iowa, eight grand children and six great grand children.
