SPRINGDALE — George Doyle Watson, 81, of Springdale, went to be with the Lord, May 26, 2010. He was born March 25, 1929, in Nail, Ark., to Forster and Berslie Thompson Watson.
George was jack-of-all-trades, helping to build several churches in the area. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Lowell.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Watson; three sisters, Ruth King, Viola Garrison and Teddy Faught; and one brother Paul Faught.
He is survived by his wife, Oma, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Owens, of Elkins, and Anita Watson, of California; a son, Dale Watson, of California; four brothers, Ottis Harris, Bill Watson and Jimmy Watson, of Springdale, and Ray Watson, of Washington; four stepdaughters, Darlene Whitener, Verna Diaz, Carla Nemec and Cathy Cozens; granddaughter, Heather Evans; great-grandson, Ryan Rieff; and several step-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Gospel Tabernacle in Lowell, with the Rev. Bobby Main and the Rev. Lawrence Daniels officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Watson, David Watson, James Watson, Richard Watson, Eldon Watson, and Brian Watson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Frazier, Greg Wood, Paul Holder, Bobby Primm, Tom Primm, Danny Lane and Don Kincy.
