SILOAM SPRINGS — James Edward Wilmoth, 88, of Siloam Springs died Oct. 1, 2008, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. He was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Decatur, the son of James Edward Wilmoth and Liddie Dill Wilmoth.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. On his farm, he raised chickens, cattle and had a peach and apple orchard. He was a member of the Masons, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He married Helen Bradshaw in Bentonville on May 4, 1946. He was a member of First Christian Church in Siloam Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Keith Wilmoth, four brothers, Charles Wilmoth, Amos Wilmoth, Ross Wilmoth and Ray Wilmoth.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of the home; one daughter, Janet Ann Wilkerson and husband Donald of Decatur; five grandchildren, Jill Johnson and husband Jeff of Siloam Springs, Kelly Jo Wilmoth of Springfield, Mo., James Edward Wilmoth and wife Jennifer of Siloam Springs, Julie Burks and husband Daniel of Wenatchee, Wash., and Jennifer Wilkerson of Decatur; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Wilmoth of Prescott, Ariz.; one sister, Pearl Fenton of Kansas City, Mo.; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Falling Springs Church in Decatur with Dr. John Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Falling Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, online at www.wassonfuneralhome.com.

Pallbearers will be Leon Wilmoth, Lewis Wilmoth, Freddie Wilmoth and Charlie Wilmoth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ivan Duncan, Orla Owenby and Leonard Truitt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Falling Springs Church.
