Charles B. Wilmoth, a well known and highly respected citizen of the Decatur community, died after a few days illness Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1931 at the age of 71 years. He had been a resident of that community for 62 years. Funeral services were held the following afternoon and burial was made in the Falling Springs cemetery. Mr. Wilmoth was born in Woods County, Texas Jan. 28, 1860. His parents moved to Benton County in 1869 and located near Falling Springs. In 1888 he was married in Decatur to Miss Sarah Roberts to whom were born 6 children: Mrs. David Compton of Bentonville; Walter, James, Ira, Earnest and Vida Wilmoth, all of Decatur. He is also survived by one brother, Andrew, of Decatur who is the last of a family of 11 children. Mr. Wilmoth also leaves 11 grandchildren and several nieces and cousins, all of whom reside in the Decatur vicinity. Mr. Wilmoth was a member of the Baptist Church and his whole life has been an example of true Christian character.
