WEDINGTON - Opal May Layne, 89, of Wedington died April 28, 1996, at Northwest Medical Center at Springdale. She was born Dec. 6, 1906, at Wedington to Will and Zona Farley Dees. She was a homemaker and a member of Siloam Springs Riding Club. She was preceded in death by one son.

Survivors include her husband, Russell Layne of Siloam Springs, to whom she was married in 1956; one son, Elis A. Sisk of Springdale; one daughter, Naomi Ridenour of Fayetteville; three stepchildren, James R. Layne and Mary E. Poole, both of Yakima, Wash., and Larry W. Wayne of West Siloam Springs, Okla., 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Reeta Ezell of Wedington; one brother, Deward Dees of St. Helens, Ore.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Weddington Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Misenheimer officiating. Burial will be in Weddington Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Shane Layne, George Hill, Delmer Collins, Bill Reed, Harold Seitz and Cecil Sisk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hutchinson, Arnold Layne, Bruce Sisk and Ronald Ezell.
