Daniel Clifford, (Diesel Red) Layne, 66, 1814 McRay, Springdale, died Aug. 13 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 13, 1909, at Wheeler, he was the son of James Benton and Della Katherine Morris Layne and a veteran of World War II. He moved here in 1948, from California, was a truck driver and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lona Pearl Parker Layne of the home; two sons, James Harvey Layne, Durango, Colo., and Raymond E. Layne, Springdale; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Marie Warford, Springdale; four brothers, Jessie Gilbert Layne, Siloam Springs, Claude Layne, Calipatria, Calif., Everett Layne, San Jose, Calif., and James Chester Layne, Antioch, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Beulah) Kimbruell, Riverside, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Sisco Chapel. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Sisco.
