Thomas B. "Tom" Hawkins was the son of James Matthew & Mary Margaret McMURRAY Hawkins.
He was married to Minda J. GILLILAND and they were the parents of two children: the infant buried here in the Hawkins Cemetery, and a daughter, Ollie Hawkins.
The newspaper reported the suicide of Tom Hawkins in a field near his home. The report says that Tom and Minda has been separated for several years and she was living with her daughter, Mrs. Ollie Phillips, at Whitener; and Tom was livign with his sister, Aunt Ann Hawkins, a short distance north of Cart Hawkins' mill three miles east of town.
Family information shows that Tom is buried in a fieldstone marked grave beside his infant son.
